Other companies have all these marketing pieces, do you need them too?  Not necessarily.

We live in a world where marketing options are as wide and varied as the people in it. Here’s just a short list you might have been considering:

  • Fliers
  • Posters
  • TV Ads
  • Radio
  • Newspaper Ads
  • Magazine Ads
  • Logo Give-a-Ways
  • Tradeshows
  • Networking Events
  • Blogs
  • Facebook
  • Google+
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • Tumblr
  • RSS Feeds
  • Website
  • Forums
  • Video Training
  • YouTube
  • Podcasts
  • Chat Rooms
  • Freebies
  • Contests
  • Free Advice
  • e-Books
  • Real Books

Just pick one thing. One thing and tackle it for two weeks. After that evaluate if you need to stick with it, drop it or if you can keep that part going while going on to something else as well.

Even if you feel behind the times, don’t jump into social media or videos just because everyone else is. Chances are they have more resources and more people. Instead think about what is important for you and your customers and only tackle those things piece by piece.
