Review: Becoming a Person of Influence by John C. Maxwell and Jim Dornan

Down and Dirty: 3.5 out of 5

Solid compelling information but the audiobook feels dry and hard to get into despite the content.

Becoming a Person of Influence is a short book, less than three hours in audio form.  The book is something of a reader’s digest of information regarding how to influence others.  They cover listening, understanding, nurturing others, being a person of integrity and more.

Perhaps the best feature of this book is the many personal stories John and Jim share to illustrate the long lists of attributes and skills you should endeavor to develop.

As I mentioned in my brief overview, this book unfortunately has a lot of information I’ve already heard from other sources and is presented in such a calm conversational manner that I sometimes tune the voices out.  The audio quality was also scratchy in parts which must mean this is a really old cassette book I suppose.

As with all books, worth the read but I wasn’t thrilled with re-reading it a second time.
