Review: Go-Givers Sell More by Bob Burg and John David Mann

Down and Dirty: 5 out of 5

Absolute must read for anyone who has read The Go-Giver (by the same authors).

One of my problems with the first book in the series was that it is based on a fictional story. Go-Givers Sell More is an answer to the mythical story of Joe and Pindar. It tackles each of the five secrets of stratospheric success described in the previous book with real life, practical explanations.

Some people may misunderstand the moral of the book, assuming that one must continually give in order to become successful. However, the truth is that you have to go to both give and receive.  It is INSANE to just give.

The Go-Giver raised many questions such as: How can I think about the other person if I really need to make a sale? How do I remain authentic? How do I make myself open to receiving gifts from others? Surely you can’t give when times are tough? Do the concepts in this book really work in real life? Where do traditional sales techniques fit into all of this?

Go-Givers Sell More was a rich read for me because every single one of those questions were questions I was asking myself. The authors do an excellent job of answering all of these and more.

Go-Givers is one of my top recommended book reads. I see this follow-up book as a necessary, wonderful supplement to it. It is a definite recommended read. The principles in both of these books will likely change the way you see business entirely.
