Some of my customers have recently bemoaned not having the time to update their blogs. Blogging is a very important part of your website. It’s the single best method for improving your SEO rankings. It helps connect with your visitors and it can serve as fuel for videos, podcasts, or tradeshow handouts at later dates.
Still, time is a precious commodity to us small business owners, so how can we squeeze blogging in?
Here’s an idea: pay attention when you’re writing emails for your customers and prospects.
Chances are you write a good answer to a question, insight or brainstormed idea once a month if not once a week. These are prime blog material! Often you can copy the email, edit out the pieces that are specific to your customer, add an introduction sentence and voila! Five-minute blog post!
As a side note, if you’re writing a book, presentation or speech consider re-tooling those into multiple blog posts! For more ideas of how to multi-purpose your content, read Content Rules by Ann Handley and C.C. Chapman.
